Google is planning to add a new feature to the Chrome browser that will provide users with previews of embedded links on the pages they navigate. This way, users will encounter a preview page before clicking on embedded link destinations.
As shown in the tweet by the user named Leopeva64, when users hover their mouse cursor over a link, they will see a preview of the page they will be redirected to. Google’s new feature, which is still in the testing phase, could bring many benefits to users.
With this upcoming feature in Google Chrome, users won’t have to blindly click on links. This new feature is expected to prevent wasting time and can also be quite useful for security.
By waiting over the embedded link for a while, users can gather extensive information about the destination page through the preview page. This way, it will prevent clicking on some embedded links that may pose a threat.
As for when this feature will be officially available, we do not have a clear idea yet. Currently, the feature consists of some basic patches in Chromium Gerrit and an explanatory document, but it will undoubtedly be made available for general use in the future.
