Google Chrome will automatically change weak passwords!

Ana sayfa / News

Google has taken a new step towards improving user security. The company announced a new feature integrated into Chrome’s password manager at the Google I/O 2025 developer conference. Thanks to this feature, Chrome will automatically create a strong password when it detects a weak or compromised password.

The new system aims to quickly detect and change compromised passwords in particular. Users will receive a notification that their passwords are insecure as a result of the checks performed by Chrome when logging in to supported websites.

At this point, the system will start the automatic password change process with user approval. A new and strong password will be created, and then this password will be used in the relevant account. Google plans to make the feature available towards the end of the year.

The company emphasized that the system will only work on certain sites and with user approval. Google manager Parisa Tabriz stated that users tend to skip this step due to the laboriousness of the password change process and that the automatic system will eliminate this problem.

In the statement made about how the feature will work, it is stated that Chrome will not change passwords without user permission under any circumstances. Users will be able to make transactions knowing that they will be in control in every situation.

Especially on platforms where weak passwords are widely used, this solution is expected to provide a significant security advantage for users. So what do you think about this issue? You can easily share your opinions with us in the comments section below.
