Google has previously utilized artificial intelligence algorithms in Gmail to protect users from harmful content and now aims to expand these capabilities to a wider audience. During a recent conference, Google executives discussed new digital security systems, highlighting the advantages of artificial intelligence in addressing malicious software that is challenging to block with traditional methods. They claimed that with artificial intelligence, they can intervene instantly and continuously improve security through machine learning, offering a safer internet experience every day.
Google’s Gmail service has been using a similar technology called RETVec, powered by language algorithms, which increases the likelihood of detecting malicious emails by up to 40%. Another AI tool used in Gmail, called Magika, identifies malicious email addresses, providing comprehensive protection. It’s rumored that Google will soon make this tool available to everyone for free.
Magika is also actively used in Google Drive and Safe Browsing applications, offering more accurate results by about 30% compared to similar tools. With the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence technologies, Magika can further improve.
