To address the issue of increasing AI-generated images in search results, Google has taken a significant step by making its final decision. The company has officially announced that it will start labeling images created or edited by AI in the coming months.

Recently, Google searches have been flooded with AI-generated images, making it difficult for users to find genuine content. Google’s new implementation will involve labeling AI-generated content through the “About this image” window. This feature will be available in Google Search, Google Lens, and Android’s “Circle to Search” service.

The misuse of AI technology has led to a significant increase in online fraud cases over the past two years. For example, in February, a Hong Kong finance expert transferred $25 million to scammers posing as the company’s CFO during a video conference. According to a May study, deepfake-related fraud cases have increased globally by 245% and by 303% in the U.S. between 2023 and 2024.

Google Photos Adds a Feature to Make You Say ‘How Was This Not Available?!’

Google Photos, which is used by many Android users, has finally introduced a feature that has been long-awaited but never before available.

Google’s new initiative is seen as an important step to help users differentiate between real and AI-generated content. The company also plans to apply a similar labeling system in its advertising services and is considering implementing a similar feature for YouTube videos, with more information expected later in the year.

What do you think about this? Do you believe Google’s decision to label AI-generated content is the right move? Share your thoughts in the comments.
