Google Maps new privacy update will bring many conveniences!
First, the app will start collecting your recent activities in one central location where you can see the places you’ve been in the past, the date you went there, and the length of time you visited. You will be able to find search history in one place. You will even be able to delete your searches, directions and shares in the same center.
According to Google’s announcement, you will be able to delete your transactions one by one or all at once. A window will appear on the screen informing you what to discard. With the new update, you will be able to see the data package, photos, reviews, feedback reports, saved listings and more about a location.
Tapping the blue dot on Google Maps will now open a settings menu for the Timeline and Location History features. So, when you enter this menu, you will be able to see whether both tools are open and whether the application has access to your device’s location. Timeline uses data from location history to keep track of all the places you’ve been.
The erase tool and blue dot menu will begin rolling out to Android and iOS phones in the coming weeks .
There is one more update. but it won’t be out until next year. The upcoming feature allows people to save timeline recordings directly to their devices instead of leaving them in Google’s cloud. If you don’t want to leave a trace behind, you can of course delete some or all of your information at once. Conversely, users can back up their data to company servers at any time. Everything is encrypted. So no one, not even Google, can browse them.
Google made another small change to location history. The auto-delete function will now be set to three months instead of 18 months. If you want to revert to a longer period, you can change its default settings.
