Google introduced the new feature “Search with Live View” in September. The company updates Google Maps with this feature. According to Google’s announcement, the new feature lets you explore what’s around you more intuitively with the help of AI, billions of Street View images, and augmented reality. Google announced that the new live view feature will start rolling out in a few cities beginning next week. Here are the details about Search with Live View.
Google Maps’ AR-based “Search with Live View”
The tech giant releases the new feature in London, Los Angeles, New York, Paris, San Francisco, and Tokyo starting next week. The feature will be available on both iOS and Android platforms. The new feature will help you find the places that are close to your current location, and you need. It will be available thanks to your phone’s camera, AI, AR, and billions of Street View images.
The visual search experience helps you to see nearby stores and other places like coffee shops, banks, and ATMs. You can see what direction they’re in and how far away they are. You can see the name, icon, rating, category/description, price range, hours, and whether it’s busy via the new feature. When you tap on the camera icon in the search bar on the map application, you can see nearby stores and check them.
Additionally, the brand brings two more updates to Google Maps. You can use it even to find a charging station for your electric vehicle. According to Google, it is now easier to find the charging station for your vehicle. When you search for “EV charging stations” and select the “Fast charge” filter, the platform will show you the stations with chargers 50kW or higher. You can also choose the types of plugs to make sure they are compatible with your vehicle.
Another feature is “Accessible Places” that is already available in Australia, Japan, the U.K. and U.S. The company makes now the feature available globally on Android and iOS. When you turn on the feature setting in the Google Maps app, you will see a wheelchair icon on the place if it has a wheelchair accessible entrance.
