Google Maps’ feature exclusive to iOS now available on Android!

Ana sayfa / News

Users of the Google Maps Android app now have a feature that was previously exclusive to iOS. This innovation, part of the latest update to Google Maps, provides users with valuable weather information during navigation.

The new feature, first reported by 9to5Google, can be seen as a small rectangular box located in the lower left corner of the screen, just below the search bar.

Within this box in Google Maps, users can find basic weather data such as current temperature, weather conditions, and the Air Quality Index (AQI) of their location.

Similar to its counterpart in iOS, the weather widget in Android dynamically updates as users explore different areas on the map. Additionally, when users interact with other elements on the screen, the widget disappears, allowing for uninterrupted viewing of the map.

Google to protect Android users against scammers

Google is testing a new tool to help Android users avoid falling victim to scammers. Here are the details...

For more comprehensive weather details, tapping on the weather box reveals a detailed card. This card not only shows the current temperature and weather conditions but also provides information on daily high and low temperatures, hourly forecasts, and AQI. Moreover, users can access the air quality map layer by tapping on the AQI value, allowing them to learn about local air quality conditions.

While this new feature of Google Maps may not be immediately available to all users, it will be gradually rolled out following the latest update. What do you think? Please share your thoughts with us in the comments.
