As artificial intelligence technology continues to evolve, companies are constantly updating their tools. Tech giant Google is now integrating a host of new personalization features into its popular AI tool, NotebookLM, with a significant update aimed at transforming the user experience.
What’s New in the Google NotebookLM Update?
Leaked test images confirm that a major part of the upcoming Google NotebookLM update focuses on visual customization. Users will soon be able to personalize their workspaces with custom banner images. A new header area at the top of the page will prominently display the project’s name along with a unique background image, making it easier for users to distinguish between different projects at a glance.
This new feature is designed to provide a more organized and visually appealing environment for research and note-taking. A new customization button, located in the top-right corner, will allow users to upload images directly from their device or cloud storage.
Enhanced Headers and New Tools
In addition to the visual overhaul, the header section is becoming more functional. It will not only display the custom banner but also show key information such as the file’s creation date and the total number of sources used. Furthermore, these custom images will be visible in the main overview menu, simplifying project navigation.
However, the updates are not just cosmetic. Google is also significantly boosting the platform’s functionality. The development team is actively testing a feature to export slide files directly into the Google Slides format. This will streamline the process of creating presentations from research notes. Additionally, new design styles for infographics and options for “Personal Intelligence” are being integrated, turning NotebookLM from a standard note-taking application into a comprehensive AI assistant.
