Google has introduced a comprehensive update to its Photos app for the 10th anniversary. The updated editing tools and AI-powered features open up many functions previously available only on Pixel devices to all Android users.
Google Photos has been completely revamped
With the update, the Google Photos editor has been completely redesigned. One of the most striking changes is that the “Magic Editor” tools, which have been exclusive to Pixel users for a long time, are now available on a much wider range of devices. These functions, which will be available on Android devices as of June, will largely automate the photo editing process.
The “Auto Frame” and “Reimagine” features within the Magic Editor will be available on phones other than Pixels for the first time. Auto Frame automatically crops photos and completes missing sections with AI support.
The Reimagine feature can also fundamentally change visual content. For example, adding autumn leaves to a plain nature photo or making the grass look greener is possible with this tool. Another new function added to the editor, “AI Enhance,” offers the user three different editing options.
These options include basic improvements like sharpening, object removal, and exposure adjustments. The AI generates these suggestions completely automatically, but the final decision is left to the user.
Google is also making album sharing more accessible. Users can now create QR codes for each album. These codes can be scanned or printed to easily access albums.
All of these innovations will be available to Android users in June. What do you think about this? You can share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
