Google is gearing up to release the Pixel 8a as an affordable alternative to its flagship Pixel 8 series, which was introduced last year. The common theme of leaks about the smartphone so far suggests that it will be focused on delivering a good price-performance ratio, much like its predecessors. Finally, Google Pixel 8a has surfaced ahead of its launch. Here are the specifications and potential release date of Google Pixel 8a!
Google mistakenly confirms Pixel 8a – Features and potential release date
Google unexpectedly removed the battery statistics feature, which displays charge cycles and the production date of the battery, from Pixel devices compatible with the March 2024 update of Android 14 QPR1.
Google explained the reason for removing the useful battery statistics feature on its error tracking page. According to the explanation, the reason for the feature’s withdrawal is the Google Pixel 8a. In other words, the battery statistics feature, introduced with Android 14 QPR1, will be available on Pixel 8a and subsequent devices. This indirectly confirms that the brand will introduce an affordable smartphone this year as well.
Looking at the company’s past policies, the upcoming Google Pixel 8a is expected to hit the shelves in the first half of 2024. As of now, we don’t have an official launch date. However, we are likely to see something at the Google I/O event in May.
Expected features of the product:
- Processor Tensor G3 (a modified version)
- RAM 8 GB
- Fast Charging Support 27W
- Screen 6.1-inch OLED, dimensions: 152.1 x 72.6 x 8.9 mm
