While Google didn’t dwell on the subject at launch, there’s a new Adaptive Touch option in the device’s display settings menu. When enabled, the device automatically adjusts touch sensitivity based on environmental conditions, usage patterns, and the presence of a screen protector.
This feature, which is enabled by default on the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL models, is especially useful when used with wet fingers. This feature, which was rumored in March, is now officially available to users.
Alongside Adaptive Touch, there is also the option of classic screensaver mode for those who prefer manual screensaver detection.
