Like every month, the company has released the August 2023 security update to Pixel devices. Google Pixel August 2023 security update brings several fixes

While we are waiting for the major operating system update, Android 14, Google released the Android 13 August update for the Pixel devices, including Pixel 4a, 4a 5G, 5, 5a, 6, 6 Pro, 6a, 7, 7 Pro, 7a, and Fold. When we look at the release notes, we can see that the update includes 39 security issues resolved in the Android 13 August patch dated 2023-08-01 and 9 for 2023-08-05.

Google says, “We have provided the monthly software update for August 2023. All supported Pixel devices running Android 13 will receive these software updates starting today. The rollout will continue over the next week in phases depending on carrier and device. Users will receive a notification once the OTA is available for their device.”

What’s included in the Pixel August 2023 update

Bluetooth

• Fix for issue occasionally causing Bluetooth keyboards to not connect *[1]

User Interface

• Fix for issue causing certain Live Wallpapers to display incorrectly in different device orientations *[2]
• Fix for issue occasionally causing lock screen to not respond *[2]
• Fix for issue occasionally causing home screen launcher search input to not register *[2]
• Fix for issue occasionally causing flickering or glitches while in Hub Mode *[3]
