As long as we are getting closer to the Google I/O event on May 10, more leaks and rumors keep revealing about the expected devices. Now, the reports by CNBC claim that Google’s first and long-awaited foldable phone, the Pixel Fold, will reveal at the special event in May, and then the company will launch it sometime in June. Here are the details about the expected specs and price of the Pixel Fold…
Pixel Fold will feature a 7.6-inch screen
One of the most distinctive features of foldable devices is their screen sizes. On the Pixel Fold, Google is expected to prefer a 5.8-inch outer screen and a small tablet-sized 7.6-inch inner screen. The device will likely have the same display size as the Z Fold 4. CNBC also claims that the phone will be heavier than Samsung’s foldable phone, but it will have a larger battery, which will last for 24 hours, or up to 72 hours in a low power mode.
The report says, “Google plans to market the Pixel Fold as water-resistant and pocket-sized, with an outside screen that measures 5.8 inches across, according to the documents. Photos viewed by CNBC show that the phone will open like a book to reveal a small tablet-sized 7.6-inch screen, the same size as the display on Samsung’s competitor. It weighs 10oz, slightly heavier than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, but it has a larger battery that Google says will last for 24 hours, or up to 72 hours in a low power mode.”
Additionally, the long-awaited phone’s specs have already been revealed by a lot of rumors. According to previous leaks, the upcoming foldable phone will have Google’s Tensor G2 processor, which is already available in the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro.
While there are no official announcements about the expected Pixel Fold, we can assume that the “most durable hinge on a foldable” will cost up to $1,799. Google’s first foldable device is expected to be announced at the I/O event but launch on June 27th, alongside the Pixel 7a.
