Google, Pixel Fold software on Samsung device tested!

Ana sayfa / Technology

According to the latest claims, Google may have tested the new software it developed for its foldable phone, the Pixel Fold, on the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 before launching the device to market. Initial references to a phone codenamed Jumbojack were found in Android 12.1. This phone, designed for internal use and testing purposes only, was revealed when an old employee put it up for sale. As it turns out, Jumbojack was actually a Samsung Galaxy Fold 2.

An X user who saw Jumbojack for sale noticed that the design of the device resembled a Galaxy Fold 2 upon closer inspection. The device was running the Android 12L operating system and had Google apps like Recorder installed. It appears that Google wanted to test the new software they designed for the Pixel Fold on another foldable phone before releasing it to the market.

However, an important design difference was identified with Jumbojack. The screen bezels of this device were thicker compared to the Galaxy Fold 2. The reason for this change was that the Pixel Fold model had thicker screen bezels. Thus, the Google team attempted to make Samsung’s phone resemble their own phone to provide a more realistic testing process.
