Google takes action for Android with AI!

Ana sayfa / Android

Google has made a major restructuring of its teams to accelerate the company’s artificial intelligence efforts. Company CEO Sundar Pichai merged Google’s software and hardware teams into a new division called “Platforms and Devices”. It was also stated that Android work was also included in this team.

The Platforms and Devices unit will be led by Rick Osterloh, who was previously in charge of Google’s hardware efforts. One of the main purposes of the reorganization is to unify the teams working on technologies such as Android, Chrome and Pixel.

In this context, Google wants to better integrate artificial intelligence into its products. Osterloh stated that groups working independently on artificial intelligence models slow down progress. He said it would be right for a single leader to oversee all AI operations.

Zuckerberg is now challenging ChatGPT! Meta AI is out

Meta AI based on Llama 3 has been revealed. Meta is integrating its new AI chatbot into social media platforms.

Hiroshi Lockheimer, longtime head of Android and Chrome, will take on new responsibilities at Google to ease the transition. However, Lockheimer said that he will not engage in a power struggle with Osterloh and stated that they have been working on this restructuring for two years.

Google also stated that it will continue to support its partners producing Android devices. In this context, he stated that it will be able to test its own artificial intelligence and machine learning developments faster in the Platforms and Devices unit.

We know that competitors such as Amazon, Apple and Microsoft are working hard to integrate artificial intelligence into their products. Google is also moving fast in this regard and wants to bring artificial intelligence to its different products, from Android to Chrome.
