Tech giant Google has unveiled Pixelsnap, its magnetic charging and accessory system, which will launch alongside the new Pixel 10 series. Announced at the “Made by Google” event, this system is based on the Qi2 standard and directly competes with Apple’s MagSafe technology.
Google Announces Pixelsnap
Pixelsnap offers users faster wireless charging and broad accessory compatibility. Pixel 10 owners can easily secure their phones to wireless chargers, stands, mounts, and various accessories thanks to this technology.
Together with this new ecosystem, Google has also launched its own official Pixelsnap wireless charger. This device delivers speeds of up to 25W. A stand version is also available for holding the phone upright while charging.
Google has also announced a hands-free device called the Pixelsnap Ring Stand, as well as special phone cases. The system’s use of the Qi2 standard paves the way for third-party manufacturers to join the ecosystem.
This will lead to the release of many accessories such as car mounts, wallets, and other holders. Pixelsnap technology is also compatible with some magnetic accessories currently on the market.
Prices for the products have also been announced. The Pixelsnap wireless charger starts at $40, the stand version starts at $70, the Pixelsnap Ring Stand starts at $30, and custom cases start at $50.
