Google unveils new AI service

Ana sayfa / News

Google has added another experimental project to its artificial intelligence pipeline. The company has announced its new service, called Opal, for the first time under the Google Labs umbrella. Testing with a limited user base in the US, Opal allows users to create, edit, and share mini web applications using text commands. The service’s primary focus is to provide an AI-powered interface that enables production without requiring technical knowledge.

With its visually focused and simple interface, Opal aims to enable users without coding knowledge to create their own functional applications. The system analyzes the user’s text commands and leverages various AI models within Google to produce results.

Users can save their created applications to their gallery, publish them to the web, or share them with others via a link to test them.

The service’s capabilities aren’t limited to creating applications from scratch. Users can also edit existing applications created by other users on the platform and adapt them to their own needs. This functionality could enable Opal to transcend its role as a tool and transform into a growing gallery of AI applications over time, driven by user contributions.

One of Google’s recent AI projects was the Aeneas model, developed by the DeepMind team. As an AI system trained on thousands of Latin inscriptions, Aeneas is capable of restoring damaged or incomplete ancient texts, determining their geographic origins, and establishing historical context by correlating them with similar inscriptions.

The model aims to contribute to historical research by academics and museum professionals. What are your thoughts on this? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
