Today, almost every service, application and website requires an e-mail address to create an account. In this context, it has become a common practice to share e-mail addresses frequently. Gmail will start a new era in the fight against spam and filtering. Protected Email will allow you to hide your email address.
Google will protect your personal data with Protected Email
Google is working on a new feature called Protected Email to strengthen user privacy. This feature, discovered in the codebase of Google Play Services, will work in a similar way to Apple’s Hide My Email feature, although it is not yet active.
Protected Email will allow users to create disposable or limited email names instead of sharing their main email address. These names will redirect messages to the main inbox and prevent the real email address from spreading.
Protected Email aims to reduce this risk by giving users more control over their email privacy. Using temporary names for email will limit the visibility of main email addresses. This will reduce the risk of spam, spammers and possible data breaches.
The feature is expected to offer a privacy layer specifically designed for apps that request users’ email addresses. As the digital world continues to evolve, features like Protected Email will become more important for users to control their presence and protect their sensitive data.
