Google has provided a new update for its artificial intelligence image creation tool Imagen 3. In this context, the company made it publicly available through the Vertex AI platform. So how much better is the new tool than competitors like Dall-E 3 and Stable Diffusion?
Google Imagen 3 is open to everyone
The tech giant first announced improvements to Imagen at the I/O developer conference in May. Following the recent announcement, the Imagen 3 tool is now officially available.
It was reported that Imagen 3 produces images with better detail, richer lighting and less artifacts compared to previous versions. Similar to other AI image tools, users will only need to enter text.
Users will also have the right to edit the created images. Accordingly, it will be possible to further edit images by highlighting certain areas and explaining the changes.
However, there will also be some limitations to prevent certain types of content. In this context, Google refuses to create images of public figures or images containing hazardous materials. However, users were able to get around the restrictions by identifying characters instead of using trademarks.
Imagen 3 was also found to reproduce the logos of major companies on demand. This means that Google’s protection measures have some flexibility. A similar situation occurred with the Grok 2.0 tool developed by xAI. Elon Musk’s company allows for much more unlimited rendering.
