Google has launched early access for Gemini for Home
The first lucky users to test this innovative experience will be selected from those who signed up for the “Early Access” program through the Google Home app. Google has begun sending invitation emails to select users in the US. The company emphasizes that this program is separate from the public preview program and participation is currently limited. Those who haven’t yet registered can try their luck by going to the Settings > Early Access menu in the Home app.
The wider global rollout of Gemini for Home will begin in early 2026.
Google will offer the core features of Gemini for Home free to all users. However, a subscription model will be adopted for advanced capabilities that unlock the full potential of AI.
- Free Basic Features: Core functions like quick search, on-device queries, real-time voice control, and Gemini Live will be free.
- Google Home Premium Standard: Advanced features like creating complex automations with a simple voice command or having the “Ask Home” feature remember your personal preferences will be included in this package. This subscription will be available with Google’s AI Pro and Ultra plans.
- Google Home Premium Advanced: For those seeking the ultimate experience, this tier includes perks like AI-powered annotations, smart notifications, and “Home Brief,” which provides summaries of the home’s overall status. This package will cost $10 per month for existing AI Pro and Ultra users.
