At Nvidia’s CES 2025 event, the company showcased its new technologies, and during one of the demonstrations, they featured the yet-to-be-released Doom: The Dark Ages. The 12-second trailer revealed the upcoming game, set for release in 2025, utilizing Nvidia’s technology.

Doom: The Dark Ages, which takes advantage of Nvidia’s RTX 50 series graphics cards, will feature visual technologies like ray tracing and DLSS 4. This will reflect the crucial graphical upgrades needed for the fast-paced world of first-person shooter games.
The short trailer shared during the presentation showed various environments, from interiors to the devastated outside world. Notably, it was observed that Doom Slayer was equipped with a previously unseen shield, potentially indicating new combat mechanics and strategies.
Developed by Id Software using the idTech engine, The Dark Ages will focus on a story-driven single-player experience. The game brings significant changes to the series, which is set in a futuristic sci-fi universe.
With its Medieval twist, The Dark Ages seems to be revitalizing the franchise by introducing a dark fantasy world. The game is expected to be released in 2025 for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
During Nvidia’s event, other games like Witcher 4 and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle were also showcased.
