Recently, the need to scan documents has become an indispensable part of daily life and business processes. WhatsApp has also come up with a brand new feature to meet this need. With the document scanning feature available for iPhone users, WhatsApp has also saved users from downloading an additional application. So, how is the feature used? Details in our news
WhatsApp starts rolling out document scanning to iPhone users
WhatsApp’s document scanning feature will be a very useful application for users from all walks of life, such as various private sectors, civil servants, students or teachers. Previously, Adobe Scan or similar third-party applications were used for document scanning, while WhatsApp could only send them. With this innovation, the entire process can be completed within WhatsApp.
The document scanning feature for iPhone users is available with the latest version of WhatsApp, v24.25.89. The feature is very simple to use and has a user-friendly interface. Here is how to use it step by step:
- Open a chat window.
- Tap the “+” icon to the left of the message box.
- Select Document from the drop-down menu and then Scan Document.
- Your camera will automatically open and you just need to frame the document. WhatsApp will automatically detect the document and take a photo of it.
After the scanning process is complete, the document is optimized with lossless compression technology. Thus, the documents are ready to be sent in a clear and organized format. Users can also make additional edits, crop or align the document.
Document scanning is currently only available for iPhone users. However, as the feature is rolling out gradually, you may not see the update immediately. To check if the feature is active, you can check if you have WhatsApp version v24.25.89 in the App Store. The feature is expected to come to Android devices soon.
