GTA 4, which came out nearly 15 years ago, still holds a special place in the gaming world. However, the game was generally known for its interesting physical bugs and performance issues. Accordingly, the reason why cars suddenly change direction on the two-story bridge in GTA 4 has become clear.
Bug in GTA 4 vehicles deciphered
A bug in GTA 4 has been acknowledged years later. Former Rockstar North director Obbe Vermeij acknowledged a bug where cars would “occasionally behave strangely” at certain points in Liberty City. In the area between Algonquin and Broker districts, the issues were causing cars and trains to run off the road.
This situation, which was also discovered by players, had actually become a big mystery on social media. Players claimed that this bug, which was prepared as an Easter egg, represented vehicles escaping from the subway collision. Obbe Vermeil said it was just a mistake.
The third case was related to the subway train. The game code was designed to allow vehicles to avoid other vehicles and modes of transportation within a certain height range. This caused drivers to change direction without seeing the road.
On the other hand, the players’ study analyzed all story missions in GTA 3, GTA: Vice City, GTA: San Andreas, GTA 4 and GTA 5. Accordingly, it identified the parts that required players to break real-world laws. Interestingly, the most laws were broken in GTA 4.
