Those waiting for the release of GTA 6 may have to be patient for a while longer. According to the latest information, the game could be released for consoles in the fall of 2025. But even this date is not certain, and the wait for the PC version of the game is even longer. The statements made by former Rockstar employee Obbe Vermeij are not particularly encouraging for PC gamers. Here are the details…
GTA 6 may not come to PC platforms until 2027!
Vermeij, who previously served as technical director for early games in the GTA series, once again reminded us of the company’s meticulousness in perfecting its games. Because of this meticulousness, we’ve seen many games in the past have their release dates pushed back at the last minute.
For example, GTA 4’s release date was changed only four months ahead of schedule. Concerns that GTA 6 could suffer a similar fate are therefore not unfounded. Even though GTA 6 is considered to be quite advanced in terms of technology and therefore may have a lower risk of delay, it is clear that Rockstar will not rush it.
According to Vermeij, the game will sell for more than 10 years and Rockstar has no intention of risking such an opportunity. “No matter what the trailer says, the game won’t be released until it’s 100% ready,” Vermeij said, adding that delays could continue until the game reaches perfection.
For PC gamers, however, the picture is darker. “You’ll have to wait until 2027,” Vermeij jokingly commented, implying that the PC version of the game could come much later than the consoles. So, it’s clear that Rockstar’s priority is console platforms and the PC version will be on hold for a while.
Rockstar has been known to release games on consoles first and bring the PC version later in the past, so the 2027 date wouldn’t be too surprising. What do you think about this? You can write your opinions in the comments section below.
