First released in 2013, GTA 5 is still one of the most popular games in the world. This popularity is mostly owed to GTA Online. With the latest update, Rockstar Games has introduced the BattlEye anti-cheat system for GTA Online.

Rockstar Games has announced the addition of the BattlEye anti-cheat system to the PC version of GTA Online. Coming almost 11 years after the game’s debut, this update surprised players.

With the update, which has been activated in the past hours, some changes have been made to Rockstar’s own anti-cheat systems as well as BattlEye. The new measures will combat cheaters who have long plagued the PC version of GTA Online.

Steam broke a record thanks to this action game!

Steam broke a new record with the number of concurrent players. Accordingly, it reached 37.8 million concurrent players.

Launched in 2013 on old-generation consoles and 2015 on PC, GTA Online caused players to struggle with cheats such as mods, aimbots and invincibility exploits. While this problem was less common on consoles, the PC platform facilitated the spread of cheating.

BattlEye is considered one of the most effective third-party anti-cheat solutions today. Successfully used in games like Rainbow Six Siege and PUBG, it can detect cheating programs and applications with kernel-level driver protections.

BattlEye’s hardware banning features also prevent repeat cheaters from creating new accounts. This seems to be the solution to the cheating problem that has been going on in GTA Online for years.
