Ken Block, the racing driver who attracted a lot of attention with his Gymkhana shows for many years, unfortunately, died at the age of 55. According to an official statement, Ken Block was seriously injured in a snowmobile accident on January 2. He could not be saved despite all medical interventions. The Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office in Utah said that Block was riding his snowmobile at around 2 p.m. on Monday afternoon when he encountered a steep slope and the vehicle suddenly flipped over and fell directly on him. Block was declared dead on the scene. This has shocked and saddened the automobile and racing worlds.
Block’s team, Hoonigan, released a statement saying, “Ken was a visionary, a pioneer, and an icon. And most importantly, a father and husband. He will be incredibly missed. Please respect the family’s privacy at this time while they grieve.”
Who is Ken Block?
Kenneth Paul Block was an American professional rally driver for the Hoonigan Racing Division, formerly known as the Monster World Rally Team. He was born November 21, 1967, in Long Beach, California. Ken Block is interested in rallying, skateboarding, snowboarding, and motocross. He has recently gained fame with his Gymkhana show videos, which he shot for demonstration purposes with rally cars. With 18 podium finishes and 7 wins, Ken Block, the fearless rally driver and co-founder of DC Shoes, continued his unique and exciting challenges. Until his death on January 2, 2023, in a snowmobile accident.
Gymkhana has been run by Travis Pastrana, who took over from Ken Block. In fact, Gymkhana 2022 was released last week and made a lot of noise again.
