The use of artificial intelligence in every field has not gone unnoticed by students. From high school to university, many students have tried to solve their exams using ChatGPT or similar tools. Finally, in an experiment conducted at Harvard University, all exams were submitted to ChatGPT. The result surprised even the faculty.
ChatGPT passed the Harvard exams with a 3.34 GPA
A new experiment at Harvard University tested the capabilities of GPT-4-powered ChatGPT. The chatbot was asked to answer real questions posed to Harvard students. These responses were graded by eight professors and teaching assistants.
ChatGPT performed very well on questions focused on the social sciences and humanities. It received an average score of 3.34. This is equivalent to an A or B at Harvard. However, it was reported to have dropped as low as a C in some exams.
ChatGPT’s essay skills on social issues were praised by many academics. However, professors noted his inconsistencies and unclear answers on some topics, and noted that he failed to provide examples.
Earlier, Christian Terwiesch, a professor at Wharton University, tested ChatGPT with questions from his final exam and managed to get a B grade.
On the other hand, ChatGPT was found to fail in subjects such as maths and finance. It was found that ChatGPT failed more than students in exams in subjects such as economics, accounting and banking.
