The highly anticipated Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, introduced last month, has been revealed as a true flagship chip for Android devices, with several impressive features. One of the most notable improvements appears to be an increase in battery life.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Extends Battery Life by 30%
With the new Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, Android devices with already long-lasting batteries can potentially last even longer. Tests conducted on the Asus ROG Phone 9 Pro and OnePlus 13 have suggested that the new chipset significantly boosts battery life.
The Asus ROG Phone 9 Pro and OnePlus 13, both equipped with larger batteries (5,800mAh and 6,000mAh, respectively), show a noticeable increase in battery performance. Despite the battery differences, the Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered devices have a much longer battery life.
For example, the ROG Phone 9 Pro, which has a 5.4% larger battery than its predecessor, saw its battery life improve from 11 hours to around 14.5 hours—a roughly 30% increase.
Similarly, the OnePlus 13, with an 11% larger battery, lasts 42% longer, offering 17.5 hours of usage. Qualcomm claims that the Snapdragon 8 Elite consumes about 27% less power, contributing to these significant improvements in battery life.
What do you think about this? Are you considering purchasing a phone with the new Snapdragon chip?
