A claim was made that will upset viewers for the highly anticipated 5th and final season of Stranger Things. In their latest interview, the Duffer brothers, one of the producers of the series, said that season 5 may miss the 2025 broadcast date.
Stranger Things season 5 may not be released in 2025
Matt Duffer stated that final decisions about the broadcast schedule have not yet been made. In his statement, he said, ‘There is no clarity yet on issues such as when it will be broadcast and broadcast frequency. That’s why I’m not allowed to talk about it. We will discuss this issue in about two weeks. It’s very important for Netflix and for us to release this season in 2025, but even that’s a pretty challenging goal,’ he said.
This uncertainty worried viewers waiting for the end of Stranger Things. Season 4 of the series was released in two parts due to difficulties in post-production processes. Now we see that even 2025 is characterised as a challenging target.
Stranger Things season 4 was released in May 2022. Even if season 5 airs in spring 2025, there will be a three-year gap between the two seasons. This may push the limits of viewers’ expectations.
Allegedly, Netflix is pressuring the Duffer brothers to reach the 2025 target, even if the quality of the final product is compromised. However, the Duffer brothers think that the series should maintain its high quality standards in return for the postponement of the broadcast date.
