After Elon Musk took over Twitter (X), he made numerous changes to the social media platform. One of them was the verification service that came with Twitter Blue subscription. Users who purchase this service also get the much-debated verification badges. However, it seems that some Twitter Blue subscribers are uncomfortable with this situation.
Twitter introduces a new setting for users who do not want verification badges
Finally, after changing the platform’s name to X, Elon Musk has now renamed the subscription service to XBlue. By changing the name of the subscription service to XBlue, Elon Musk is making another significant change.
A new statement has been added to the ‘About Twitter Blue‘ help page, specifically for users who do not want verification badges. According to this, users will be able to hide verification badges from their profiles and posts. However, it is emphasized that these verification badges may still appear in certain areas.
Twitter Blue subscribers who do not want the verification badge that comes with this service will be able to hide this badge from the profile editing section. Therefore, users with Twitter (X) subscriptions but who don’t want verification badges can remove them with the help of this setting.
Since Elon Musk took over Twitter, the social media platform has been continuously in the spotlight. After causing great confusion with the verification badges introduced after Twitter Blue subscription, Elon Musk later backtracked and restored the privileges to users who were previously verified.
With its new name, X, Twitter is now offering XBlue subscribers the option to use the blue tick, providing an important feature for users who do not wish to display it. So, what are your thoughts on the X social media application and the new verification badge policy? Feel free to share your opinions in the comments section.
