HMD Touch 4G blends smart features with retro charm

The HMD Touch 4G is here, and it’s not your average feature phone. Instead of a keypad, it sports a full touchscreen and packs in enough functionality to blur the line between smart and simple, all while staying extremely affordable.

In a shift from the classic buttoned style, the HMD Touch 4G arrives with an all-screen design. It still carries that familiar feature phone DNA, just minus the keys. Measuring 102.3 × 61.85 × 10.85 mm and weighing 100 grams, it’s compact enough to fit almost anywhere.

Its display is 3.2 inches across with QVGA resolution, topped with 2.5D glass. That’s small, but for users who just want essentials with a touch of modern UI, it’ll get the job done.

Vivo X300 FE appears in EEC and IMEI listings, hinting at a global launch as the compact successor to the X200 FE moves closer to release.

Powered by a Unisoc T127 chip, the same one used in the HMD 105 4G, this phone keeps things light. It runs on 64MB RAM and 128MB storage, though a MicroSD slot allows for up to 32GB expansion.

On the back, there’s a 2MP camera, while the front gets a basic 0.3MP shooter. It’s not for photography, but it does enough for video calls and voice messages.

One of the most surprising parts of the HMD Touch 4G is its software. Running on HMD’s RTOS Touch, it introduces “Cloud Phone Service,” a set of cloud-based browser shortcuts to access games, news, and other essentials.

The included Express Chat app supports texting, voice messages, and video calls. It even works across platforms, with versions available for Android and iOS. You can hold the Quick Call button to send a voice note, simple, fast, and functional.

At a glance, the HMD Touch 4G could pass as a mini Skyline. It comes in Dark Blue and Cyan, has curved sides, flat ends, and a pill-shaped button beneath the screen. On the back, a centered camera module gives it a bit of personality.

Despite its retro roots, it offers:

At ₹3,999 (~$45), the HMD Touch 4G doesn’t pretend to be a smartphone. But it knows exactly what it is a modern feature phone for people who want just enough tech to stay connected, without the clutter.

It’s a throwback, but it’s sharp.
