Hollow Knight: Silksong storms past 6 million sold

Ana sayfa / News

Hollow Knight: Silksong has officially crossed the 6 million mark in global sales. Despite a packed September filled with AAA launches, this indie sequel didn’t just survive; it stole the spotlight.

Even with blockbuster releases like Borderlands 4 and Dying Light: The Beast hitting shelves, Hollow Knight: Silksong carved out a spot in September’s top 5 most downloaded games. That’s no small feat for a tiny Australian studio like Team Cherry. Steam alone pulled in 4 million of those downloads, making PC the lead platform by far.

Halo: Combat Evolved remake rumored to be in the works at Virtuos

Rumors say Virtuos is developing a Halo: Combat Evolved remake, with possible reveals coming at the Halo World Championship on October 24.

Reviews tell the rest of the story. Over 80,000 players on Steam have left “Very Positive” ratings, showing that the hype wasn’t empty. Silksong’s mix of precision platforming, rich art direction, and tight combat seems to have hit the mark again.

The console breakdown shows a clear winner: Xbox crushed PlayStation, tripling its download numbers. That’s largely thanks to Game Pass, which gave subscribers day-one access at no extra cost. Meanwhile, Switch saw steady traction, though numbers weren’t disclosed in full.

Alinea Analytics shared the full sales split:

That’s a strong showing for a game that waited years in the shadows, only to drop with no shortage of competition.

Even heavy-hitters like Skate (13.9 million) and EA FC 26 (9 million) couldn’t drown Silksong out. NBA 2K26 and Borderlands 4 followed behind, both landing around the 3 million mark. Still, none of them were indie, and none came from a three-person dev team.

Team Cherry didn’t overmarket. They didn’t overshare. They just launched, and the audience showed up. For a genre that rarely makes headlines, Silksong just wrote its own. Quiet games, loud results.
