Classic productions of the Hollywood world continue to be remade in today’s conditions. Finally, an agreement was reached for A Fistful of Dollars, one of the iconic projects of Western films. Released 60 years ago, the movie will be remade.
A Fistful of Dollars will be remade
Italian and American producers have reunited for A Fistful of Dollars, the iconic Western that debuted in 1964. The adaptation, from Euro Gang Entertainment and producers Enzo Sisti and FPC S.r.l., will bring the film back to the big screen 60 years later.
The two production companies have acquired the broadcast rights to the film starring Clint Eastwood and directed by Sergio Leone. In a statement, Euro Gang Entertainment will co-produce with Enzo Sisti. Sisti has previously produced films such as The Talented Mr. Ripley and The English Patient.
One of the biggest projects of the “Spaghetti Western” movement, A Fistful of Dollars is also an important part of Clint Eastwood’s career. Eastwood, who played the mysterious gunslinger known as ‘The Man with No Name’ in the movie, helped to give birth to the European Western genre.
The producers underlined that they will refer to Leone in the movie prepared 60 years later. In this context, they will reshoot the film in accordance with modern cinema techniques. Of course, details about the director, cast or release date have not yet been announced.
