Honor is ready for the competition: New strategy will boost the Magic7 Pro!
Perhaps the most important development for a consumer is the company’s promise to provide 7 years of Android and security updates for Honor Magic phones, starting with the Magic7 Pro. This naturally extends to all future Honor Magic devices. The update guarantee will be offered first in the EU, with other regions following suit.
Honor’s new shift in strategy will give the Magic7 Pro and other new devices long-term update support, enhanced AI capabilities and broader ecosystem compatibility. The company will make the user experience smarter and smoother to compete with Samsung and Google. Here are the highlights of Honor’s new strategy:
- AI-powered features: Honor announced that AI Deepfake Detection technology will be available globally from April 2025. In addition, AI Upscale, which improves old portrait photos with AI, will be integrated into Honor devices with Snapdragon 8 Elite processors. For example, AiImage will be able to improve the image quality of Honor’s cameras by up to 50% thanks to large language models (LLMs) running natively on the phones themselves.
- Compatibility with iOS: Honor’s new whole-ecosystem file sharing technology will allow seamless data transfer between Android and iOS devices.
- AI assistants: Similar to the smart assistants offered by Samsung and Google, Honor phones will be equipped with AI agents that automate user tasks.
