The foldable smartphone market continues to grow. The latest member of the competition among models with horizontally foldable devices is Honor Magic V2. Launched as the thinnest and lightest foldable phone ever, Magic V2 impresses with its design.
Honor Magic V2 features, price and release date
According to the news in ShiftDelete.Net, the first of the prominent features of Honor Magic V2 was its thin design. The device, which is only 9.9 mm thick when folded, competes with normal phones in terms of thinness. For comparison, the iPhone 14 Pro Max comes with a thickness of 7.65 mm. In addition, the screen of the device reaches a size of 4.7 mm when unfolded.
In addition to its slim design, Magic V2 is quite light. The leather version weighs 231 grams; the glass version weighs 237 grams. Again, to compare it with the iPhone 14 Pro Max, the iPhone weighs 240 grams. It was also stated that the device, which has a titanium hinge, can be folded 400 thousand times.
Magic V2’s exterior display uses a 6.43-inch 2376×1060 OLED panel. The interior display comes with a 7.92-inch 2344×2156 OLED panel. Both displays support 120Hz LTPO refresh rate and have a peak brightness of 2500nits.
The device is powered by an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The overclocked version, also used in the Galaxy S23 series, promises battery efficiency. Honor also said it uses a self-developed RF chip to improve 5G performance.
Magic V2 has a triple camera setup on the back. This setup includes a 50 Megapixel main, 50 Megapixel ultra wide-angle and 20 Megapixel telephoto sensor with up to 40x zoom. There is also a screen-embedded 16 Megapixel selfie camera on the front.
Honor Magic V2 price is set at $1300 and is on sale in China. It remains unclear when it will come to the global market.
