Honor X80 spotted with monster 10,000 mAh battery

Honor is making a bold move in the battery race with its upcoming mid-range smartphone. The Honor X80 has surfaced through certification filings, and it’s bringing something few phones dare to: a massive 10,000 mAh battery.

Smartphones with 7,000 mAh batteries used to be rare. Now, they’re becoming more common. The Honor X80, however, takes it to another level. A listing from the China Quality Certification Center confirms the phone packs a 10,000 mAh battery rated at 3.91 volts equaling 39.1 Wh of capacity.

That’s nearly the same battery size found in the Steam Deck LCD, which is built for gaming, not mobile calls and photos. Compared to the 8,300 mAh cell in last year’s Honor X70, this new model offers 20% more juice.

iPhone 17e rumored to get slimmer bezels and Dynamic Island upgrade

The iPhone 17e is tipped to gain Dynamic Island and slimmer bezels, offering a sleeker look while keeping its affordable price point.

European shipping laws make phones with large single-cell batteries hard to deliver. To get around this, brands often use dual-cell setups. The Honor X80 may follow that same path, or its capacity could be lowered slightly for Europe.

Still, Honor isn’t alone. Other models with massive batteries are on the horizon, including the rumored Honor Power 2 and an upcoming Realme phone with similar specs.

What we know so far:

While specs like display size, chipset, and camera features remain under wraps, the Honor X80 is already turning heads for one reason: battery life. In a market that’s finally moving beyond the 5,000 mAh standard, Honor is pushing the limit.

For users tired of carrying power banks, this phone might be the answer assuming the rest of the package delivers too.
