The eagerly awaited second season of House of the Dragon, produced for HBO by George R. R. Martin and Ryan Condal, has a confirmed release date. According to information revealed by Variety, the new season of the series will air on HBO in June.
House of the Dragon 2nd season
The first trailer for House of the Dragon’s new season was released in the final days of 2023. Upon watching the trailer, the words of Alicent Hightower, played by Olivia Cooke, “War will break out, many will die, and the victor will eventually ascend to the throne,” stand out. The introduction of new characters, including Tom Taylor as Lord Cregan Stark, makes the trailer even more intriguing.
George R. R. Martin stated, just like in the first season, that all seasons of the series will consist of 10 episodes each. It is estimated that each episode will once again have a duration of around 1 hour. However, the planned number of seasons might disappoint fans a bit.
Martin had previously stated in an announcement last year that they planned to make 4 seasons of the series. While this may be ideal for a regular series, considering that the main production, Game of Thrones, lasted for 8 seasons, it seems like a relatively short adventure.
