How much does it cost to produce the iPhone 15 series?
Apple had set the prices of the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus models in its latest series at $799 and $899, respectively. The top models, iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, offering higher specifications and better performance, were priced at $999 and $1,199, respectively.
The prices of these phones in Turkey are, as you might expect, considered quite high by many. According to current official prices, the iPhone 15 model is sold at 53,999 TL, the iPhone 15 Plus at 61,999 TL, and the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max at 69,999 TL and 82,999 TL, respectively. Of course, when the prices are considered high, the costs of the devices also become a matter of curiosity.
Recently emerged information has shed light on the cost of the iPhone 15 series. According to this information, the production cost of the standard iPhone 15 is $423. If this is correct, we can say that the cost of the phone is 16% higher than its predecessor.
Without taking into account taxes and other expenses, we see that Apple sells a single iPhone 15 for $376 more than its production cost. Considering that the product has sold millions of units worldwide, we can argue that the profit they have made is staggering.
According to reports, the screen of the iPhone 15 Pro Max is 10% more expensive than that of the iPhone 14 Pro Max. While titanium frame costs increased by 43%, the cost of the A17 Pro processor is 27% higher compared to the A16 Bionic. It is also mentioned that the telephoto camera and tetrahedral prism system are 3.8 times more costly than their predecessors.
