If you’ve decided that you no longer want to use Facebook, it’s easy to permanently delete your account. This process can take up to 90 days, during which time your account will be deactivated and you will not be able to log in or access any of your information. But once the process is complete, your account will be permanently deleted and you will no longer have access to it.
Here are the steps to delete your Facebook account
- Go to the Settings section of your Facebook account. You can access this by clicking the drop-down menu in the top-right corner of the page and selecting “Settings.”
- In the Settings section, click on the “Your Facebook Information” option in the left-hand menu. This will take you to a page where you can manage your account information and settings.
- Under the “Your Facebook Information” section, click on the “Deactivation and Deletion” option.
- On the next page, you will see two options: “Deactivate Account” and “Permanently Delete Account.” If you want to temporarily disable your account and have the option to reactivate it in the future, you can select the “Deactivate Account” option. But if you want to permanently delete your account, click on the “Permanently Delete Account” button.
- Facebook will ask you to confirm your decision by entering your password. Once you’ve entered your password, click on the “Continue” button.
- Facebook will then ask you to provide a reason for why you’re deleting your account. You can choose from a list of pre-populated reasons, or you can enter your own. Once you’ve selected a reason, click on the “Submit” button.
- Facebook will then begin the process of permanently deleting your account. This process can take up to 90 days, during which time your account will be deactivated and you will not be able to log in or access any of your information.
It’s important to note that once your account is permanently deleted, you will not be able to retrieve any of the information or content that you have posted on Facebook. This includes photos, videos, messages, and other forms of personal data. So if there is any information that you want to save, make sure to download it before you delete your account.
To download your data, go to the Settings section of your account and click on the “Download Your Information” option. This will allow you to download a copy of your data in a variety of formats. Once you’ve downloaded your data, you can save it to your computer or another storage device, or you can print it out for safekeeping.
And that’s it! Once the process is complete, your Facebook account will be permanently deleted and you will no longer be able to access it. So if you’ve decided that it’s time to say goodbye to Facebook, just follow these simple steps to permanently delete your account.
