If you want to learn the models and brands of the components inside your computer that you are currently using or planning to buy, there are a few different methods you can use to do this. In this regard, we have prepared a guide that explains how to find out the motherboard model.
How to find out the motherboard model?
You can perform the process of finding out the motherboard model by installing third-party software for detailed examination or by using the features provided by the Windows operating system without installing any programs. However, we will share all the options.
Finding out the motherboard model without using any applications
Method 1
- Press the Windows+R keys to open the Run application.
- In the window that appears, type cmd and click OK or press the Enter key.
- Type msinfo32.exe in the opened black Command Prompt and press Enter.
- In the System Information screen that appears, click on System Summary located on the left side.
- Among the data displayed on the right side, there will be two options: System Manufacturer and System Model.
- Here, you can see the manufacturer brand and model number of the motherboard.

Method 2
- Press the Windows+R keys to open the Run application.
- In the window that appears, type cmd and click OK or press the Enter key.
- In the opened black Command Prompt, type wmic csproduct get name,identifyingnumber,uuid and press Enter.
- This will display information such as the model number of the motherboard.
Method 3
- Press the Windows+R keys to open the Run application.
- In the window that appears, type regedit and click OK or press the Enter key.
- In the Registry Editor page, follow the steps HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Hardware > Description > System > BIOS to view the motherboard model as shown in the screenshot above.
Method 4
- Press the Windows+R keys to open the Run application.
- In the window that appears, type dxdiag and click OK or press the Enter key.
- You can view all your system specifications through the DirectX Diagnostic Tool page.
Querying with application installation
- Download and install one of the programs such as CPU-Z, Belarc Advisor, or System Spec that will allow you to view your system specifications.
- After the installation is complete, perform the setup.
- Inside the application (CPU-Z), you can click on the Motherboard section located at the top to view your motherboard information.
