How to Fix AirPods Connection Problems
AirPods are generally known for their seamless Bluetooth connections, but connection issues can occasionally occur. In these situations, no matter what you do, your earbuds won’t pair with the target device. So, how do you solve the problem when AirPods won’t connect?
Solution for AirPods Connection Issues
AirPods connection problems usually stem from a simple issue in the Bluetooth settings. The solution for those facing this problem is quite straightforward. First, you can try forgetting your AirPods in the Bluetooth settings of your iPhone, iPad, or Mac and then re-pairing them.
For this process, open the Settings app, tap on Bluetooth, and click the “i” icon next to your AirPods. Then use the “Forget This Device” option.
The charging status of your AirPods can also cause connection problems. Make sure both the earbuds and the charging case have sufficient charge. The light on the front of the charging case indicates the charging status. A green light means fully charged, while an orange light indicates low charge.
If the problem persists, you can reset your AirPods by following these steps from Apple’s website:
- Place your AirPods in the charging case, close the lid, and wait 30 seconds.
- On an iPhone or iPad paired with your AirPods, go to Settings > Bluetooth:
- If your AirPods appear in the My Devices list, tap the More Info button next to your AirPods, then tap Forget This Device. Tap again to confirm.
- If your AirPods don’t appear in the list, proceed to the next step.
- Open the charging case lid.
- Depending on which AirPods model you have, press the setup button on the back of the case or tap the front of the case:
- If you have AirPods 1, AirPods 2, AirPods 3, or AirPods Pro: Press and hold the setup button on the back of the case for about 15 seconds until the status light on the front of the case flashes amber, then white.
- If you have AirPods 4: Double-tap the front of the charging case while the status light is on. When the status light starts flashing white, double-tap again. When the status light starts flashing faster, double-tap a third time. When the status light starts flashing amber then white, you can reconnect your AirPods to your devices.
