You previously connected to a wi-fi network, and want to connect again, but can’t remember the password? Here’s how to reveal it
When you are in a private space and connect to the wi-fi service with your computer, all is well. But what happens if you want to connect another device to the network? For example, your smart phone? Do you need to ask again?
The answer is no, if you already have your computer at hand. Just open up your computer and hit Windows+R. when the Run dialog box opens, write CMD and hit Enter.
The command prompt window will be displayed. Just write
netsh wlan show profiles
And hit Enter. You’ll see the list of all wi-fi networks you previously connected with this computer. Keep the network name in mind and type
netsh wlan show profile name=”write network name here” key=clear
And hit enter. Voila! You’ll see the wi-fi password in the section that begins with Security settings in the line that begins with Key Content
Happy surfing…
