Thanks to the new iOS 16 update, Apple devices can now save all the Wi-Fi networks, even if it was years ago. Then, you can see and connect to the network when it is nearby.

Find your saved Wi-Fi passwords on iPhone or iPad

You may want to connect to a Wi-Fi that is available on your friend’s iPhone, or they want to connect to your recent network. Now, you can view and share these passwords on your iPhone. Apple announces that you can use Face ID to see and copy Wi-Fi passwords in iOS 16, iPadOS 16.1, and later.

  1. In the Settings app, tap Wi-Fi.
  2. Find the Wi-Fi network that you want to see the password for, then tap the Info button.
  3. Tap on the hidden password.
  4. Use Face ID or Touch ID to unlock and reveal the password.

Apple warns, “To view saved Wi-Fi passwords, you must use Face ID or Touch ID. You can only view and copy a saved password if you’ve successfully connected to that Wi-Fi network before.”

If you would like to access all saved passwords to share or see, your devices allow you to do it. You can go to Settings > Wi-Fi, and tap the Edit button on the top right. Then you will see the list of your saved networks and every single Wi-Fi network you’ve ever connected to. You can appear the password by clicking on the information icon, and then hitting Password.
