Nintendo Switch 2 was officially announced in recent weeks. The company revealed that its next-generation portable gaming console will be released on April 2, 2025, and has also set a date for a detailed presentation. So, what will the new console offer?
All Leaks About the Nintendo Switch 2
According to recent leaks, the Switch 2 will feature an 8-inch OLED display, making it the largest screen in the series. Compared to the first-generation Switch, which had a 6.2-inch display, this represents an approximately 29% increase in size.
Reliable sources indicate that the Switch 2’s hardware will significantly raise the performance bar for portable consoles. It will deliver high performance in both handheld and docked modes.
In docked mode, the console is expected to achieve 3.09 TFLOPS of performance. While this is lower than the Xbox Series S (4 TFLOPS) and PS4 Pro (4.2 TFLOPS), these figures are still impressive for a portable console.
Additionally, CD Media Türkiye, Nintendo’s sole authorized distributor in Turkey, has officially confirmed that the Switch 2 will be available in the country in 2025. The console will be sold under the assurance of CD Media Türkiye.
It has also been confirmed that existing Switch games will be compatible with the new console. However, some older titles may not have full compatibility.
The Switch 2 is expected to have a starting price of $499. However, if bundled with a Mario Kart game package, the price could increase. Without a bundle, the console is rumored to be priced at $449.99.
