HPE and Ericsson Launch 5G Core Solution

Ana sayfa / News

HPE and Ericsson have established a validation lab focused on a 5G core solution to address the challenges faced by telecom operators in their multi-vendor infrastructures. This collaboration is testing cloud-based, AI-enabled dual-mode 5G networks. This will enable them to deliver high-performance and scalable networks. It will also reduce the complexity of deploying new services, enabling operators to adapt to the increasingly digital world.

The lab, to be located in Sweden, combines Ericsson’s dual-mode 5G core solution, HPE ProLiant Gen12 servers, the HPE Juniper Networking network, and the Red Hat OpenShift platform. This will ensure compliance with telecom standards through interoperability testing. With this integrated solution, operators will be able to simplify their operations and accelerate innovation.

The joint solution offers telecom operators flexibility and efficiency. Ericsson’s core solution, which supports both 5G and 4G, reduces operational costs. HPE ProLiant DL360 and DL380 Gen12 servers deliver high performance with Intel Xeon 6 processors. Additionally, HPE Juniper Networking’s QFX Series switches and Apstra Data Center Director simplify network management with intent-based automation. Red Hat OpenShift enables the rapid deployment of new services.

This collaboration enables telecom operators to respond to rapidly increasing connectivity demands. HPE and Ericsson are facilitating the transition to cloud-based networks, allowing operators to adapt to new technologies. Most importantly, this solution allows operators to flexibly respond to variable network traffic and simplifies lifecycle management.

The lab will be operational by the end of 2025, and the integrated solution’s validation will be completed in the first half of 2026. Customer feedback will be gathered through real-world field testing to accelerate time to market. This will enable telecom operators to achieve a more efficient and innovative infrastructure.
