Huawei has announced that it has reached a major milestone for 5G-Advanced (5G-A) or 5.5G, the next step in 5G. The company stated that it is the first brand to complete the verification of 5G-A network intelligence technologies, marking a major step in the development of next-generation 5G networks.
Huawei is working on 5.5G
Huawei’s verified 5G-A network intelligence solution is based on the NWDAF (Network Data Analytics Function) core network capability. NWDAF can dynamically and according to need by detecting service experience and network resource status in real time.
Tests have shown that the NWDAF solution provides significantly better experiences in key scenarios such as live broadcasting, cloud gaming, and video conferencing. In cloud gaming, frame rate losses were halved after 5G-A was enabled.
Bandwidth in live broadcasts increased by more than 50 percent and interaction delays were reduced. In video conferences, thanks to the optimized uploaded data bandwidth, freezes and black screens have been eliminated.
These results demonstrate Huawei’s leadership in 5G-A technology. They also represent an important milestone in the company’s path to realizing the full capabilities of its 5G-Advanced networks. 5G-A is expected to provide 10 times the speed of 5G and connect everything with much lower latency.
This development also comes at a time when Huawei is struggling to access 5G technology. It remains to be seen what the company will do when it cannot access European and American technology due to the US.
