The US embargo has also hit ai chips. As you know, the US banned the sale of Nvidia’s H100 ai processors to China. Nvidia, on the other hand, is trying to be effective in the Chinese market with the H20, which was slowed down in accordance with the US embargo rules. However, Huawei has offered an alternative artificial intelligence processor called Ascend 910C for the Chinese market.

The fact that Nvidia, OpenAi and Microsoft have made huge revenues thanks to artificial intelligence has whetted the appetite of all technology companies. China does not want to be left behind in the artificial intelligence revolution led by the US. However, the US banned the sale of Nvidia H100 processors to China. This caused China to find different solutions. Chinese companies, which previously converted their old graphics cards, seem to be getting rid of this problem thanks to Huawei.

According to the details that have emerged, Huawei has developed an ai chip called Ascend 910C. As you know, Huawei has the ability to produce processors up to 7nm level with its partnership with SMIC despite all US embargoes. In this sense, Huawei seems to have used this infrastructure so that Chinese companies do not fall behind in the artificial intelligence revolution.

The details about the performance of this ai processor are not yet clear. However, it has been revealed that giant companies such as TikTok owner ByteDance, Baidu and China Mobile have started to order this processor from Huawei. In this sense, it is among the details that have emerged that Huawei markets the 910C as having similar performance to the H100.

Are the smartphone AI features in the Samsung S24 losing their importance? So will Apple and iPhone 16 sales be affected by this?

It is also a matter of curiosity whether the Huawei ai chip will be used outside of China. In this sense, the Ascend 910C ari processor will start shipping to customers in October. It has also been revealed that Huawei has received 70 thousand orders for the processor in the first stage. It is expected that Huawei will earn a huge income of 2 billion dollars from these orders.

Nvidia, on the other hand, does not want to give up a large market like China. However, the US embargo ties the hands and feet of many companies. Even ByteDance, one of the world’s largest social media companies, Baidu, China’s Google, and China Mobile, one of the world’s largest telecommunications companies, could be enough for Huawei to make significant income. Again, among the first information to emerge is that many technology companies based in China are waiting in line for this processor.

Huawei first re-manufactured its own processor, and now it is taking on the real money-making side of artificial intelligence. Do you think the company can neutralize the US embargo in this way? We are waiting for your comments.
