BYD’s off-road vehicle focused brand Fang Cheng Bao has launched the Bao 8 model for pre-sale. Keeping expectations high, the Bao 8 is making an ambitious entrance into the market with a price starting at $56,000.

BYD’s sub-brand Fang Cheng Bao has started pre-sale of its new SUV model Bao 8. Offered at prices ranging from $56 to $76,000, the Bao 8 can be reserved in China. The first deliveries of the vehicle, which is available in six and seven-seat versions, are expected to begin in November.

The Bao 8 is powered by a 2.0T engine that produces approximately 750 horsepower and 550 kW combined power. According to Fang Cheng Bao, the SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds. The dual-mode driving system offers a driving range of over 1200 kilometers.
Among the prominent features of the vehicle is BYD’s DiSus-P suspension system, which offers up to 200 mm of travel. In addition, the Bao 8 became the first BYD model to be equipped with the Huawei Qiankun ADS 3.0 intelligent driving solution for off-road performance.
This feature will allow the Bao 8 to move autonomously while parking. The advanced system offers features such as map-free navigation, collision avoidance and parking suitable for all scenarios. The system aims to pioneer autonomous driving functionality in off-road environments and overcome obstacles.
