Huawei announced that it canceled its P series flagship smartphones. Accordingly, it announced that the devices offered as the P series have been upgraded to the Huawei Pura series. This change emphasizes the company’s desire to emphasize mobile photography in its flagship.
Huawei P series is gone, Pura is here
Speaking at the announcement in China, Huawei CEO Yu Chengdong said that the P series has a 12-year history. Accordingly, he stated that it will continue to be the market leader in mobile imaging and design trends.
Huawei wants to open a new door in smartphones with the Pura series. Accordingly, it said it will continue to invest heavily in research and development. The company’s goal will be to provide customers with better products and experiences.
No phones were announced at the event in China. However, it is thought that the first models of the series will be called Huawei Pura 70. The new models of the Pura series will feature a triangular camera module. Leaked photos have revealed a triple configuration, with one being the main sensor, along with an LED flash.
Reports have revealed that the Pura 70 will come with a few key upgrades. Similar to the Mate 60 series, it is rumored to be powered by the Kirin 9000 chipset.
Supply chain sources from China say that bulk parts shipments for the Pura 70 series have started. This indicates that the launch event is getting closer.
