Huawei Kirin 9030 processor undergoes testing

Ana sayfa / News

Ahead of Huawei’s unveiling of the Mate 80 series at an event in China on November 25th, benchmark results for the series’ flagship chipset, the Kirin 9030, have been verified on the Geekbench platform. These data reveal the chipset’s architecture and initial performance figures.

Details from the Geekbench listing indicate that the Kirin 9030 will feature a nine-core central processing unit (CPU) structure, arranged in a 1+4+4 configuration.

This structure includes a single performance core clocked at 2.75 GHz, four cores clocked at 2.27 GHz, and four efficiency cores clocked at 1.72 GHz. On the graphics front, the chipset has been confirmed to utilize the Maleoon 935 GPU.

The device tested is the Mate 80 Pro Max model and features 16 GB of RAM. These early performance results show the Kirin 9030 achieving a single-core score of 1,131 and a multi-core score of 4,277.

However, leaker Digital Chat Station noted that the chip was not operating at full frequency during the test. This does not fully reflect final performance and suggests that higher scores may be seen in the future.

The current results indicate that the Kirin 9030, in its current form, falls short of top-tier mobile processor solutions from Qualcomm and MediaTek. The previous model, the Kirin 9020, featured a 2.5 GHz single-core processor, a 2.15 GHz triple-core processor, and a 1.6 GHz quad-core processor with a Maleoon 920 GPU.

The new core layout is expected to offer a noticeable improvement over the Kirin 9020, particularly in terms of multi-core performance. Full technical details and precise performance data for the Kirin 9030 will be revealed at Huawei’s upcoming Mate 80 launch.
